International Scholar Laureate Program

I have just been awarded a scholarship from Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society, to attend the International Scholar Laureate Program for Nursing and Healthcare in Johannesburg, South Africa, this coming May. I chose South Africa over Australia, because I am very interested in visiting a Zulu community and learning about the rituals of Sangomas, who are the traditional healers of the community.

This $3000 Scholarship covers most of the tuition, but does not cover the flights or the cultural extension, which I would very much like to participate in. You can see a breakdown of the tuition costs by visiting the International Scholar Laureate website, and following the links provided there. A breakdown of the costs of the program and exactly what the scholarship covered, is in the email that I received from them; you can read it by clicking here.

For this reason, I have started a GoFundMe campaign. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity for me, and I am very honored to have received it.
