RIP JOE PHILLIPS OF WILDCAT RECORDING USA

JOE2

Joe Phillips devoted his entire life to music. When he wasn't playing or recording himself, he was busy helping others to have their music heard.

A skillful musician, singer/songwriter, engineer and producer, he founded WildCat Recording USA in 1993, where he released CDs by many of his pals including Tom Rapp, Scott Severin, Forrest Harlow...and myself. In 2011, he released a Christmas compilation featuring tracks from multiple artists, including a version of "Silent Night" performed by the late great Bill Chinnock, which was so kindly donated by the Chinnock family, and my song "Snow."

Joe died on April 20th from complications caused by chemo while being treated for stage IV lung cancer. He was a lively presence on Facebook, which is where we met, and he will be missed by many.
